What is a seed swap?
A seed swap is an event where gardeners exchange seeds. Farmers collect seeds from their farms and gardens and bring them to a swap in order to exchange them with other growers. Seeds Swaps also provide growers with opportunities to meet and learn from each other.
Do I have to have seeds to come to the swap?
No you don't have to have seeds to come to the seed swap. Our goal is educate and provide opportunities for gardeners to connect and learn from each other.
Why would I save seeds?
There are many reasons why people save seeds. Most have been saving seeds for generations, but there are many new gardeners finding their way to seed saving and heirloom farming. Some of the reasons include saving money and most importantly, taste! Heirloom seeds provide genetic diversity among our food supply. Heirloom seeds usually grow better in their environment because they have adapted to the region. Many gardeners are using heirloom seeds to stay away from HMO's.
